Paint Chip Bookmarks

So you know those paint chips that you get when you want to see how the paint colour will look on your wall? I have a bunch in my drawer that are just piling up because I take them just because I like the colour. Well anyways, I can finally use them!!!

Kay, so this picture is crappy as hell but the basic idea is just circles cut out to make a bookmark.

This is just a close up of it.

Teen Book Reviews (Part 2)

So last time, I did soem reviews and now I've read more books and the two I chose are really good so I wanted to review them!

Title: The Extraordinary Secrets Of April May And June
Author: Robin Benway
Age Group: Teen
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

April, May, and June are all sisters but these aren't your average sisters. They all share one secret. They have powers.
Moving to a new school is already hard but trying to control them is even harder. April can see the future, May can turn invisible and June can hear people's thoughts. April has a crush on Julian, May misses her father and June wants to become Little Miss Popular.

This book is amazing. It has the parents are divorcing, new school, falling for a guy characteristics but the powers put a whole new twist on this. There is a bit of language though so watch out for that. I have read Robin Benway's other book- Audrey Wait! That book is pretty good as well.

Title: Sweethearts
Author: Sara Zarr
Age Group: Teen
Rating:  ♥♥♥♥

Jennifer Harris and Cameron Quick have been friends for all they remember. When Cameron disappears, Jennifer is crushed and she becomes Jenna- a confident happy, popular girl. Everything that Jennifer couldn't have been. When Cameron comes back, the two quickly catch up on the two different paths their lives have taken.

This book was so good. the cahracters were real and honest and the writing was terrific. This book could go on for chapters more and I would never be bored.

Teen Book Reviews (Part 1)

I love reading. It's a huge part of my life and I absolutely love it. I love reading mystery, romantic, teen fic types of books. Keep in mind that I DO NOT own these books, I am just giving my honest opinion of it. This is my part 1 of a part 5 series of books that I recommend. If all goes well, who knows? I might turn this into a weekly thing. On to the books!

Title: Not Suitable For Family Viewing
Author: Vicki Grant
Age Group: YA (Young Adult)
Rating: ♥♥♥♥ (out of 5)

I love young adult books and Vicki Grant writes amazing stories. I love that she's a Canadian author because I love Canada!

Robin Schwartz is daughter of big time tv show host Mimi Schwartz. She finds a hidden picture of her mom and decides to figure out who Mimi really is. She goes to a small town in Nova Scotia, Canada. As she searches for clues of who her mom is, she meets a cute guy and buried secrets.

This book is so damn good. I love it! It's realistic and Robin is such a down to earth character. This is a page turner and people who enjoy reading realistic fiction would really enjoy this. This book is not fairly long, it's around the 250 mark and I recommend this book to everybody!

Title: Along For The Ride
Author: Sarah Dessen
Age Group: Teen
Rating:  ♥♥♥♥♥

Auden's parents are divorced and she ahs a chance to spend the summer at her dad's house. Auden works for her step mom's clothing boutique and discovers along the way what she ahs missed out due to her demanding mother. There she meets Eli whos he discovers is like her. Late at night, they get to know each other and tell about their past.

This book is fantasic. It has the Sarah Dessen mark on it making a perfect for a late night. I borrowed this book from a friend, having nothing to read and I loved it.  This book get s a 5 star out of 5 because it has a good plot, I love this author and it's a teen classic.

Read thses books! They are incredibly awesome!

Trying Out New Things

So last post I did the Wall Flowers. I've been trying out new things and some work, some don't.

Click here to read my post and click here to go ot the tutorial for the wall flowers.

I tried using normal paper like printer paper to make these flowers but it was much too thick and the sheet wouldn't peel apart without ripping.
Next I tried using tissue paper and it worked pretty well. I used christmas themed tissue paper. The first three were snowflake printed and the last was a bold red.

For an extra christmasy feel, I used silver pipecleaners to tie the middle.

Yay! The final product! It looks absolutely amazing. I love making these! I'll so fo sure make miniture versions to stick onto some gifts. Ooh! I could also make some really, really tiny ones to stick onto my christmas tree.

Wallflowers

 K, I know what you're thinking.
"This looks exactly like the newspaper gift toppers. Nope. This is a flower made from paper napkins. Yes, I realize they are almost exactly the same but who cares? I can't take all the credit though. i got this from http://www.dana-made-it.com/2008/07/tutorial-wallflowers.html. I love this tutorial. the pictures are easy, the instructions clear. Love it!

Yes, I know that my flowers look kinda different. That's because instead of cutting it wrong like the tutorial said to do, i cut it pointy. Either way looks cool. I plan to make a dozen of these for my friend's birthday party.
And the bacground for these pictures is simply scrapbook paper.
